BAFTA 2021: Adarsh Gourav And Ramin Bahrani Earn Nominations For The White Tiger; Priyanka Chopra Is Overjoyed: ‘What A Proud Moment’
The nomination list for the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards 2021 was announced today. Adarsh Gourav earned a nomination in the Leading Actor category for The White Tiger, while writer- director Ramin Bahrani has bagged a nomination at the BAFTA Awards 2021 in the Adapted Screenplay category. Apart from Adarsh Gourav, The White Tiger also starred Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao in pivotal roles. Priyanka is also the executive producer of the film, and she expressed her excitement about the great news!

In The White Tiger, Adarsh played the role of Balram, who works as a driver for Rajkummar Rao’s character. The film traces Balram’s journey as he eventually fights against systemic oppression and goes on to create his own empire. Priyanka Chopra took to her Instagram and shared her joy, expressing what a proud moment it is. She lauded Adarsh Gourav and Ramin Bahrani, saying they both deserved the nod at the BAFTA 2021.

Apart from Adarsh, other names in the Leading Actor category include Riz Ahmed for Sound of Metal, Chadwick Boseman for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Anthony Hopkins for The Father, Tahar Rahim for The Mauritanian and Mads Mikkelsen for Another Round.


Meanwhile, Adarsh Gourav spoke with Subhash K Jha for SpotboyE after earning the BAFTA 2021 nod, and he revealed that he is dazed. “I am dazed! I  was  in the gym. In the morning I heard that I may be nominated. I didn’t think about it the whole day. I was busy doing other things. Now when I finish working  out, I find messages  from Pooja Asher(dialect coach for  The  White Tiger) and my father. He was watching it live on television.
